As the temperature rises and summer sets in, more motorcyclists unveil their two wheeler friends from under the covers. The only protection they have is a thin layer of leather tightly wrapped around them and an overly large helmet to keep them safe and sound on the road. Motorcycle riders can be hard to spot in traffic especially while you're trying to merge or change lanes. Recent studies have shown that for every kilometre travelled, motorcycle riders are about 20 times more likely to be killed than car drivers. That is a pretty scary statistic when you think about it. It is extremely important to be aware of other road users such as motorcycle riders on the road. Always pay close attention and check for motorcycle riders when you're on the road - changing lanes, merging and even when you open your door when parked. As the days get warmer and longer, more motorcycle riders take out their two wheeler friends for a ride. It is important to take extra care to check for motorcycle riders.
