The Goal

What does our 12-month-0-harm goal mean?

The 12-months 0-harm goal for provisional drivers is not a way to replace existing teaching standards and modules.  It is a challenge for Leyla Driving School to accompany them with a teaching method and approach which embeds safety in young drivers. Statistically, provisional drivers are between 20 and 30 times more likely to be involved in an accident resulting in a casualty whereas on their learner license, learners are statically safer on the road than any other license class holder.

We believe a Student-Centred Learning approach tailored to the specific needs of the student and based around the development of Life-Long Learning techniques is the key to Safety 4 Life and therefore reducing the alarming statistics surrounding provisional license holders. The reasoning behind this is simple. If we can teach a learner driver to think for themselves and embark on their own unique learning experience, then they are more likely to understand the pillars of safe driving and therefore apply them throughout their lives.
